Google Scholar Preferences
There are two links you might want to set up in Google Scholar preferences - to go to full text if the university subscribes to it.
To setup Google Scholar to give you a link to the American University of Paris databases, when it is available, please follow these steps:
a. Go to http://scholar.google.com/
b. Click on , on the top left corner - click on - then select Library links
c. In the Library Links box, type American University of Paris d. Check the box in front of the result e. Click Save
You can save up to 3 preferences. You may want to add SUDOC as a second choice. This will tell you if another French university library has the journal you are looking for.
Système universitaire de documentation - SUDOC Catalogue.
Once these settings are set up and saved on your computer you will see links to the right of the page, or underneath the citation, that are clickable.
Find it @ AUP
Once you click on the 'Find it @ AUP' link you will see a screen similar to the one below. You can click on the title in blue (if it is there) and it will take you to the article in one of our databases or directly to the ejournal online (if we subscribe to it). You will need to login with your AUPNetID and password if you get this link. You may get the 'Check detailed holdings' link which usually means we have either the journal online or in print. This link will lead you to the library catalogue. The last links are "Check other library catalogues or request an Interlibrary Loan". These will take you to pages on the AUP library homepage where you can check local libraries to see if they have the journal you need or to the Interlibrary Loan page where you can request a Document Delivery (our library will order the article from another library).
For SUDOC, when you get to the SUDOC page, you can click on 'localisation' to see what libraries in France have the journal (you will have to check for the correct volume and issue).
If you have problems or the links don't take you to the 'right' places. Please contact the library at Research Help and explain the problem. We may be able to help you find the article you are looking for or we may be able to help you find other articles that will be of use. Make sure to let us know exactly what article you are trying to find (title of the article, author, title of the journal, date and volume/issue if possible) and if you need help with HOW to find more articles or better ones, let us know the topic of your research.
